‘Perfect Example’ by Errorr
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Perfect Example’ by Berlin-based three piece band Errorr. Their third single is released by Anomic Records.
The video was made by Olga Karatzioti-B., who has been doing a lot on the visual side for Errorr’s work. It was shot during the last day of a vacation in Greece. “The video takes place in the countryside, close to my family’s summer house in Greece. I have been watching these fields from the backseat, ever since I can remember. Inspired by Michael Haneke’s sequence shots, I wanted to do long takes, where the observer also gets time to take in the scenery.
I had been picturing a table with a white table cloth on one of those hills and in all honesty, the whole story is based on this image. Since the story starts in my parents trailer from the 70’s, the video follows that vibe stylistically.”
‘Perfect Example’ starts out loud and aggressive but soon changes into an uptempo guitar-driven rock song by this great noise punk trio.
Leonard Kaage, who played and recorded everything himself on these first recordings, explains “When I wrote this song, I was into noise rock and punk-inspired rock of the early 90’s. It was a time where a lot of bands were inventive in how to use a guitar and pushed the borders of mainstream music.
‘Perfect Example’ is sort of an homage to that. But the real message of the song is to think for yourself and don’t do what other people do just because you think you are supposed to.”
The Swedish multi-instrumentalist is also known as the producer and guitar player of The Underground Youth and has worked with numerous other bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Holy Motors, Kristof Hahn (Swans), Tracy Bryant, The Blue Angel Lounge and many more.
