‘Slow Reaction’ by Dewey Defeats Truman | New EP, ‘The Way You Shatter’
San Diego, California-based indie-rock band Dewey Defeats Truman comes roaring back to life after an extended hiatus; releases new EP and video on Silver Girl Records.
One of San Diego’s most intriguing bands of the early 2000’s, Dewey Defeats Truman released records and toured regularly. Enjoying a fair amount of attention and press, the band shared stages with Archers of Loaf, Jimmy Eat World, Jesus Lizard, Kelley Deal, and played music festivals coast to coast including North by Northwest (NXNW) in Portland, South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, and CMJ in New York. Sometime in 2002, the band went dormant.
In December of 2018, the trio comprised of Mark MacBride, James Reader and Scott Frazier, reformed to perform for a pair of shows celebrating the 30-year anniversary of legendary San Diego music venue The Casbah and in honor of local alternative radio station 91X. Since then, the band has quietly been busy writing and recording new material.
On Friday, October 8th, the band releases ‘The Way You Shatter’, a 5-song 12″ E.P., a triumphant return of catchy, driving indie-rock that captures the long-dormant band in suddenly peak form.
It’s Psychedelic Baby! Magazine is proud to premier the official video for the EP’s first single, ‘Slow Reaction.’
