‘Tooth and Nail’ by Flamingo Rodeo | New Album, ‘Pontoon’
Exclusive track premiere of ‘Tooth and Nail’ by Flamingo Rodeo, taken from their upcoming album, ‘Pontoon’, out June 30, 2022 via Shuga Records.
Mikey Wells was the co-frontman of NE-HI, back before his friend and then-bandmate Jason Balla took off with Dehd, and Mikey also plays some funkier music in Spun Out.
“‘Tooth and Nail’ is about getting knocked down and getting back up: perseverance over phoniness! It is about the music business in that it is pro-music and anti-business. I dig this one musically because it’s a mix between Tom Petty and ‘Rumours’-era Fleetwood Mac. Our friend Colin Croom (Twin Peaks) played some great boogie piano on this track, and there’s a lot of nifty percussion stuff and dual guitar work that pops in and out. Definitely a choogler”.
