‘The Real Sound Of The World’ by Marc Jonson & Ramírez Exposure | New Album, ‘Turning On The Century Vol.1’

Exclusive track premiere of ‘The Real Sound Of The World’ by Marc Jonson & Ramírez Exposure, taken from their upcoming album, ‘Turning On The Century Vol.1’, out via Hurrah Música in September/October.

The relation between these two generations of artists isn’t new at all. Marc produced one of Ramírez’s best records (‘Young Is The New Old’, 2017) and they have toured together around Spain on two occasions. (2016 and 2018).

The importance of partnership in music can’t be underestimated. Paul McCartney admitted working alone in his recording studio took twice the time absent another person to spur him on. As they embarked on their project, Ramirez Exposure and Marc Jonson entered an atmosphere passing the creative baton back and forth across the ocean. This collaboration produced ‘Turning On the Century’.

‘The Real Sound Of The World’, a fantastic new track from Marc Jonson and Ramírez Exposure!

About the song, this is what Víctor and Marc say:

“As you grow up, everyday seems like you are learning a new lesson … from the moment you start discovering how to walk and talk it’s hit and miss … two steps ahead three back … it continues like this … when I turned 18 the world suddenly got larger it seemed. No more school friends or the safety of my former daily routines.

I looked out from my baby eyes at this busy ongoing machine others called “life”. You have to do something to find your spot … like Cybill Shepard in “The Heartbreak Kid”.

So you use your most obvious talents and ambitions and make a path through uncharted territory. You learn as you go like you always did. You are free and can fly if you stay true and remember people will help you wherever you are … you realize most people feel the same way about finding themselves

and sooner or later must hear the real sound of the world in order to make their move …”.

After a few small tours, he hit the New York City streets and began playing the Greenwich Village club scene. He was quickly recognized as a strong creative force among his peers. RCA

Record’s rockabilly sensation, Robert Gordon was first to pick up on Marc’s songwriting abilities by recording three of Marc’s songs, including the title song on his RCA release, ‘Are You Gonna Be The One’.

Next, Warner Brothers Records, The Roches recorded Marc’s inspired, ‘Love Radiated Around’, which went on to be nominated for Song of the Year by the New York Music/BMI Awards. Live, he has played festivals such as SXSW, FIB Benicàssim or Monkey Week and performed with international acts such as Nada Surf, The Posies, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Jacco Gardner or Luna. An official showcasing artist at Official SXSW 2017 Complete Playlist, Chicago’s WBEZ included him amongst the festival’s highlights: “Ramirez Exposure brought an unexpected intensity and a riveting charisma to the jangly power-pop of his albums”. […] he elevated sounds that could have been overly genteel or so inward-looking as to be solipsistic into something everyone could celebrate.”. His albums ‘Book Of Youth’ (2015), ’Young Is The New Old’ (Munster, 2017) and ‘Exit Times’ (2021, Lovemonk) are the absolute proof of his unique talent.
