Exclusive album premiere of ‘Every Body’ by art-pop duo Pleeay, out October 7th.

Fronted by a classically trained ballerina who performs onstage to soulful rock drums with sprightly vocals and minimalistic synths, Pleeay creates a defiant and utterly poignant experience both visually and sonically.

Recorded at the iconic Bay Area studio, Tiny Telephone, Castle Laws (vox) and Huli Curry (drums) are able to capture and convey the bittersweet energy that the pain of existence leaves flowing beneath our flesh. Electro synths reminiscent of Peaches glare into the night, burnished by thumps and crashes that serve as revelations throughout the ten tracks. Castle’s reverb-drenched vocals are both sharp and soothing, painting a portrait of a weathered yet hopeful soul.

“When we don’t think for ourselves, someone will think for us. When we don’t act on our own behalf, someone will act through us. ‘Every Body’ is about owning your thoughts, your actions, your story, and embodying your life,” explains Castle. “Whether it’s breaking down the walls of society, opening doors for others to come in, accessing the most intimate parts of themselves, or simply just dancing, ‘Every Body’ compels the listener to action,” adds Huli.
