‘Borborygmus’ by Cuntroaches
In support of SKiN GRAFT Records’ 150th release, the Halloween-inspired ‘Sounds To Make You Shudder!’ album (featuring the likes of Terms, Tijuana Hercules and The Jesus Lizard’s David Yow teamed with Yowie), the Berlin-based, boundary-busting extreme metal band Cuntroaches have cut loose their video for ‘Borborygmus.’
The story behind the creation of the track goes a few years back, while Cuntroaches were mixing one of their songs. “I got into some kind of trance-like state where I started obsessing about a witch with long fingers who was trying to cook food” – explains Davide, one of the founders of the three piece. “I drew a comic about it which turned into the storyboard for the ‘Borborygmus’ music video. Over the next year me and the other Cuntroaches (Martian and Claire) started making puppets based on our own pets and other props, stage design, costumes, etc. for the filming. The DIY spot Autobahn in Berlin let us use their space and Martian (who is a professional actor) did an amazing job in the role of the witch Count Roachula.”
The initial plan to film the video over three days took two weeks. David continues: “I spent the next year editing and going on a sluggish road to learning editing and special effects programs. This was the first time doing anything like this and it was all a chaotically, dreadful yet wonderful experience! We’re so happy with how it turned out and that it is finally out!”
The final cut is an inspired slice of “Mario Bava by way of Pee Wee’s Playhouse” noise wave, black metal bombast. Cuntroaches are embarking on a ‘Sounds To Make You Shudder!’ micro-tour this weekend.

6.11.22 2004am i enjoy this song. and enjoy the noise that the likes ov cuntroaches dish out. i am here to take all that the cuntroaches dish out in the way of music. the video does nought for me. i do recall the old comic book 7inche singles that skin graft used to release. sadly my indulging with poop…or pop culture doesnt amount to much enjoyment other than music. all other gimmiks are superfluous. anyhow; the jesus lizard settled in my consciousness many years ago and i can’t shift the fucker even if i wanted to. can’t locate this compilation anywhere. so go figure. thanx.
