‘Pop Star’ by Lime Garden | New Album ,’One More Thing’
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Pop Star’ by Lime Garden, taken from the latest album, ‘One More Thing,’ out via So Young Records.
Lime Garden have shared their long-awaited debut album, ‘One More Thing,’ out now via So Young Records. In addition to being released on all DSPs today, ‘One More Thing’ is also available on standard red vinyl, a special Dinked edition Cornetto vinyl, and a special Lime Garden edition blue vinyl.
Coinciding with their record’s release today, Lime Garden also shares a brand new music video for focus track ‘Pop Star.’
Speaking on the track rack, Lime Garden’s Chloe Howard said: “‘Pop Star’ was influenced by a real pop star and me not wanting to go back to my part-time job after being in the studio. On the morning of the studio session, I’d watched a TikTok of Damon Albarn talking about how Gorillaz used the standard preset on an omnichord for ‘Clint Eastwood’ – and then, guess what I found in the studio!? – so, we figured if Damon says so, we should try it! Then I sang over the demo about not wanting to go to work the day after and the lyrics stuck. The song is almost so sarcastic that it’s gone full circle into honesty and my work / life imbalance. The song has got a swagger that might surprise a few people!”
Produced by Ali Chant (Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey, Yard Act), Lime Garden’s full-length ‘One More Thing’ LP is the culmination of a stellar run of singles and non-stop touring since their emergence in 2021. It’s a truly striking debut, an effortless ode to womanhood and coming of age littered with fizzing indie-pop of the indie sleaze era, experimental electro inclinations a la Charli XCX or Caroline Polachek, and moments of heart in the vein Bon Iver and The Japanese House.
This year, Lime Garden’s live presence continues to grow with a series of UK/IRE tour dates (including recent dates supporting Bombay Bicycle Club in the UK). The band has also announced their debut US tour with stops in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
