Piss Rules is an egg punk band from Rockville, UK, consisting of the brother and sister duo Eggman Meringuewell and Grandma’s Special.
They released a 4-minute EP called ‘Carsick’.
Who’s Piss Rules? A 3-piece band?
Piss Rules is a lovely sparkly egg punk band consisting of brother and sister Eggman Meringuewell on guitar, bass, and drum machine, and Grandma’s Special on vocals and charisma. Our parents had but two kin, so a duo are we.
Where are you from?
We’re both from Rockville in our hearts, but we’re based in Bristol and Leuven.
When did you start the band?
We started on a crisp December afternoon in 2023 after Grandma’s Special vomited on the M5 on Christmas morning due to carsickness and a nasty hangover. This inspired the debut rockathon, Carsick. It wasn’t Eggman’s first rodeo, but Grandma was new to the saloon! Grandma’s first release ever, and Eggman’s best.
Is ‘Carsick’ your only release until now?
Bigtime! 4 songs, 4 minutes. We wrote and recorded it in half a day, as you can probably tell if you’ve listened to it. Keep your eyes peeled for more rock on the way!
How would you define the music of Piss Rules? Digi punk? What’s egg punk?

Why do you only play short songs? Do you also play short concerts?
Grandma’s hands are so small so it’s hard to write long songs 🙁
Truthfully, we only had the 4 minutes of music and weren’t planning on making more. We didn’t think we’d ever play live. Very unexpectedly, we got some emails from promoters asking if we could play for 30 minutes, so Eggman hopped on an overnight bus to Belgium so we could write 16 more songs in 3 days. Now our set is half an hour of non-stop rock.
Your music reminds me of Snooper, Devo, Brorlab, Suburban Lawns, PIL, Pylon, Evaporators. Can you do something with these references?
Devo and Brorlab are major faves and inspirations. Devo for their skronky guitar sounds and off-kilter songs, and Brorlab for their shrieky brand of to-the-point rocking. It was so cool to play with some of the guys from Brorlab at Café Central in their other hot band Kotskat.
