‘In the Name Of’ by Maverick Persona | Album Premiere

Exclusive album premiere of ‘In the Name Of’ by Maverick Persona, slated for release on November 1, 2024 via NOS Records and MarraCult.

Maverick Persona, the collaboration between Amerigo Verardi and Deje, is set to drop ‘In the Name Of,’ their second album of 2024, on November 1st. Just months after ‘What Tomorrow?,’ this new record continues their dive into unclassifiable soundscapes—analog warmth meets digital chaos, creating a mix of unpredictability and tension.

The album’s concept revolves around a young man’s descent in a corrupted world. The songs form a cinematic, fragmented narrative, from the rebellious bursts of ‘Complete the Task’ (“a deadly short circuit for a bourgeois family”) to the lysergic madness of ‘Sirashka’ and the reflective final journey of ‘Dreaming Laurel Canyon.’ In ‘Somewhere We Have Landed,’ the protagonist finds himself in a desolate place where civilization is in decay—oil stains, madmen, and abandoned dogs. ‘Underworld Conspiracy’ reflects the paranoia of being controlled and exploited by a power-hungry system. The title track, ‘In the Name of,’ shows the protagonist on the edge, where violence against the System feels like a spiritual act of rebellion.

Each song is packed with intense emotion, culminating in ‘Turn on the Good Music, Louder!’ where sound becomes salvation, offering freedom in a new world. Other standout tracks include ‘Bite for Freedom,’ where the boy and a stray dog form a bond in their aimless wanderings, and ‘Is It Really All Over?,’ where the paranoia peaks and seems to foreshadow a massacre.
