‘Late Night’ by Kappekoff | New Album, ‘Old Spring’
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Late Night’ by Kappekoff, taken from the upcoming album, ‘Old Spring,’ slated for release on November 15th, 2024 via Oslo Records.
Kappekoff is set to release ‘Old Spring,’ an album rich with lush, polished soft rock vibes and breezy nu-disco beats. At the heart of Kappekoff is Magnus Falkenberg, a bassist and producer from Oslo whose work channels the vibrant Oslo-disco scene, pioneered by the likes of Lindstrøm and Todd Terje. Falkenberg’s style fuses pop, jazz, and electronic elements, creating music that’s equal parts energetic and reflective.
The album ‘Old Spring’ is the second part of a two-part project that began with ‘New Spring,’ where Falkenberg slowed things down and explored jazz-infused hip-hop, collaborating with artists like Ivan Ave and Stephanos Yowhannes. Now, ‘Old Spring’ shifts gears with a more dance-oriented approach, bringing a yacht rock essence to the mix along with jazz and improvisation. It’s a star-studded album, featuring contributions from artists like Ragnhild, Neon Ion, Thomas Busch, and rapper Pasha, who describes his track as having the vibe of a rooftop party with a DJ and MC, akin to the energy of Common & Armand’s ‘Full Moon.’
