‘Get There Before Noon’ by The Afro Nick
Exclusive video premiere of ‘Get There Before Noon’ by The Afro Nick.
Greek-born artist Nick Anastasakis, best known as The Afro Nick, returns with his latest single, ‘Get There Before Noon.’ A reimagined version of a track first recorded in New York, it was finalized in his LA home studio, blending indie rock with soulful intensity.
Hailing from Crete, Nick’s early inspiration came from local Romani guitarists performing in the streets. Before heading to the U.S., he toured the island with his former band, Stray Blue. Now based in LA, The Afro Nick continues his journey as a self-produced artist, crafting music rooted in freedom and individuality.
Joining him are longtime collaborator and bassist George Athanas and Grammy-winning synth player Leo Genovese, who splits his time between NYC and LA to create alongside Nick.
Inspired by a hazy morning rush in New York, ‘Get There Before Noon’ captures a seize-the-day ethos with driving guitars, raspy vocals, and poignant lyrics like, “I got to live this life, not yesterday.” The song’s hopeful finale urges listeners to embrace their own rhythm.
‘Get There Before Noon’ is out now on all streaming platforms, with more music from The Afro Nick on the horizon.
