Alligator Ladies slithered into existence in 2021, the mutant brainchild of Ben Avgay (Silvi Jan) and Eden Atiya (Rasco)two sonic wanderers who crossed paths in 2020 and instantly locked into the same weird frequency. Fueled by garage grime, freak-folk mysticism, and a heavy dose of the unknown, they sound like Ramases & Selket resurrected in the digital age, Thee Oh Sees lost in a kaleidoscopic vortex, Ty Segall’s amp frying mid-set, or MGMT if they’d spent their formative years in a psychedelic doomsday cult.

Recorded in their own lair, their debut album is a beautiful, bug-eyed Frankenstein’s monster—twisted riffs, cryptic lyricism, and just enough chaos to keep it teetering on the edge of collapse. It doesn’t sit neatly in any box—too freaky for garage purists, too raw for psych snobs, too wired for the doom heads—but that’s exactly what makes it hit like a fever dream.

And the ripples are already spreading. Their track Eeee wow! is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series Bad Boy (2025), so don’t be surprised when this reptilian groove crawls out of the underground and bites the mainstream right in the jugular. Get on board or be left in the swamp.
