‘Sandy Says’ by Iain Mann | New Album, ‘Magic Tracks’

Exclusive track premiere of ‘Sandy Says’ by Iain Mann, taken from the upcoming album ‘Magic Tracks,’ out April 26, 2024 via Royal Oakie Records.

Iain Mann’s inaugural album, ‘Magic Tracks,’ marks a vibrant musical journey infused with his distinctive storytelling. Collaborating with Alexi Glickman from Sandy’s, Mann’s melodies resonate with tales of cherished figures and personal narratives. Crafted during the COVID-19 lockdown in Scotland, where Mann found solace with his family, the album echoes with their shared experiences, adding an intimate allure to the tracks. Drawing from a diverse range of influences, from his upbringing in Berkeley and Lima to his collegiate years in Santa Cruz, Mann’s compositions blend pop sensibilities with folk nuances, reminiscent of timeless classics while carving its own path.

Joining Mann on the album are an ensemble of talented musicians, including multi-instrumentalist Glickman from Sandy’s, drummers Jeremy Black (Apollo Sunshine), Cody Rhodes (Skyway Man, Curls), and Rob Mills (French Cassettes, Spooky Mansion), vocalist Xo Mai Eng-Mann, and childhood friend Lorenzo Farrell, whose organ contributions evoke the spirit of Procol Harum and The Band. Collaborating with Glickman, David Glasebrook handled the mixing and mastering at his Oakland, CA studio, while the album cover, inspired by Mann’s symbolic renewal in the redwoods, was designed by Austin, TX-based graphic artist William Gaynor.

With a rich tapestry of sounds and narratives, ‘Magic Tracks’ promises to captivate listeners worldwide when it launches on April 26th, 2024, courtesy of Royal Oakie Records.
