Exclusive EP premiere of ‘Communications With the Unknown’ by Go By Ocean, slated for release on June 21, 2024, via Royal Oakie Records.

Go By Ocean, the project of Northern California’s Ryan McCaffrey, is set to release a new EP titled ‘Communications With the Unknown.’ This 6-track EP includes acoustic versions, instrumental remixes, and outtakes, from vinyl LP ‘Can I Communicate With the Unknown?’

Co-produced by Tim Bluhm, David Glasebrook, and McCaffrey, the EP features contributions from a wide array of West Coast musicians, including members of The Mother Hips, Sugar Candy Mountain, and ALO. The project revisits McCaffrey’s original vision of capturing his songs with just vocals, acoustic guitar, and keys, before expanding them with a rich, collaborative sound.

‘Communications With the Unknown’ brings a blend of acoustic simplicity and layered, improvised elements, reflecting influences from CSNY, The Beach Boys, and The Byrds. This EP is a response to the existential themes explored in McCaffrey’s previous work, offering a message of peace and freedom amidst chaos and doubt.
