Teledrome – Teledrome (2014) review

Teledrome – Teledrome (Mammoth Cave Recording
Co./P.Trash/FDH, 2014)
This record has been a long time coming, a very long time
coming! Since I first heard this band on their Bandcamp page I have been such a
huge fan! Heck I even booked their first out of province show in Saskatoon 2
January’s ago! Taking elements of synth pop and the sound of the late ’70s power
pop and a Ramones esque sound this is some of the best crafted songs I have
heard in forever! With comparisons to bands like the Tubeway Army and The
Nerves you kinda get an idea of what to expect with this band. Just when you
think you have this band figured out you get blasted with a coldwave influence!
Did post-punk ever sound this catchy?!!? This record is now on preorder and
will sell out fast so do yourself a major favor and not sit on this one because
it is already climbed its way up to the top of my favorite records of the year
and this year has some pretty amazing records already released! Be ready to
listen to this over and over because it is a short one but one that needs many
replays!
