Exclusive album premiere of ‘superlove5000’, a band inspired by the Spacemen 3 and the likes.

The band recorded this material a few years ago. Here’s a few words from L5K about the recording process:

“In the manner of Spacemen 3’s ‘Recurring’, we didn’t speak a word during the making of this “album” – the resurgence of the files for these recordings were found in the depths of a hard-drive earlier this year. I (.a.k.a L5K) have been living with a late stage neurodegenerative condition for several years which eventually rendered me unable listen to music. For what I do remember about these tracks: they were made in relay on a shared GarageBand file. S5K’s parts done in minutes between split shifts, then me, in hell; strength, vision and sensory gating already so decimated I could only manage a single take every few days, weeks, then months, until it all went dark; crawling around on the floor each time too weak to lift anything.

Craft never got a chance. The few shows we played as SL5K were mostly improvised with my old iPod as drummer and words written en-route and then re-written again the next time because I could never remember them. In the 6 intervening years, S5K never did bring himself to touch a guitar again and me… I got a lot to forget.”

A project consisted of S5K (guitars, drum loops, pads, bass and additional keys) and L5K (Vox, bass, keys, violins, sitar, percussion and additional guitar).
