‘I’m Gonna Do It Until The Day That I Die’ – A Documentary About Mog Stunt Team | Premiere
Mog Stunt Team – unearthed music from mid-90s grunge band “disappeared” by aliens?!
Sometimes, there’s a band that is the Zeitgeist. In 1997, Detroit’s Mog Stunt Team put out an album on Amphetamine Reptile Records (founded in Washington State) which not only fucked with the rock world but may have challenged the very nature of reality. This was one band that paid the price for the outrageous message inside the all-out musical armageddon they waged.
In the mid 1990s, after a blistering self-released CD, Detroit-based psychonauts Mog Stunt Team signed with storied and influential purveyors of aggro-noise Amphetamine Reptile Records. Their second album followed, and led to touring, love from critics, and a rapidly growing fan base of disaffected Fortean freaks from around the globe.
Discovered in a box of VHS tapes at Detroit’s famed 54 Sound studio, ‘I’m Gonna Do It Until The Day That I Die’ is a documentary chronicling Mog’s final tour and their subsequent disappearance. No information about the filmmakers can be found and nothing has been heard from the band since their disappearance in 1997.
As people have come to realize about the Mandela effect, reality as a consensus can be questioned. From an era formed by the Church of the SubGenius and the blossoming of conspiracy theories, the truth is that this band once really existed, and made a loving fanbase for their visceral skronk. And then they actually vanished — and we are eager to find co-investigators to check out their story and music and report their own findings! Please consider being one of those chosen few.
Without the internet to tell us The Truth, it’s hard to know what is Knowledge and what is Belief. Are UFOs real? Is John Tesh? Mog Stunt Team’s music is still as vital and real as when it was released and is ripe for rediscovery, and for that reason it’s time to ask: WHAT HAPPENED TO MOG STUNT TEAM?
