Jethro Tull | June 3 | Hala Tivolu | Ljubljana, Slovenia
Jethro Tull first performed in Ljubljana’s Hala Tivoli on April 15th, 1975, and returned there once more in May 2000. Four years later Ian Anderson returned to Ljubljana to play a concert in Cankarjev dom, where he performed as a special guest. The band will be playing this July, presenting their latest album.
We interviewed Ian Anderson in support of their 2022 album, ‘The Zealot Gene’. On the latest tour the band will be presenting their very latest release, ‘RökFlöte,’ as well as the classic numbers.
A record that began to take shape as early as 2017, ‘The Zealot Gene,’ in many ways, seeks to defy convention during a time when the business of being a touring and recording artist has never faced more uncertainties. Jethro Tull’s bandleader Ian Anderson holds no reservations about the role for which the mythos and themes of Biblical storytelling played in the lyrical content of the new album. On the other hand ‘RökFlöte’ takes us from Christianity to paganism. If ‘The Zealot Gene,’ was based around the Bible, the latest album takes us on a trip of paganism and Norse mythology.
