‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ by Ryan Curtis | Album Premiere

Exclusive album premiere of ‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ by Ryan Curtis, out today via American Standard Time Records.

The hardest working man in country music just dropped this thrill ride on us and we can’t wait to get it out. ‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ is Ryan’s sophomore solo album and it’s probably the best representation of his work to date.

Ryan Curtis will always travel the entire range of country sub-genres. On ‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ you get country-funk (‘Can’t Take Back’), country rockers (‘Drunk Tank’), ballads (‘Codependent Heart’), good timin’ two steppers (‘Cactus’ & ‘Cocaine’), and western (‘Through The Trees’). Ryan really creates sounds that serve the songs he writes and because he tours the pacific and mountain time zones constantly he can really whip up a band to match the sound he needs. ‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ was recorded by Bart Budwig in Enterprise, Oregon, with some finishing touches put on at Luxetone in Boise, Idaho, near Ryan’s home.

‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ feels like Ryan Curtis’ most approachable, and happy album. The role of country music, of course, has always been to twist phrases into happy songs about life’s more difficult phases, guaranteeing the passing of time is worth it for the joy we feel right now. Eternal rewards be damned, as long as you’ve got a song and a cold one in your hand. Ryan drawls about whiskey and lonely things as the albums only accordion reels about small town streets, and old time saloons. There’ll be howlin’ at the moon and whirlin’ around the saloon.

Ryan Curtis’ second solo album ‘Ain’t Ever Easy’ is out on American Standard Time Records. Digital and physical distribution by Free Dirt Service Co. Available online and in record stores on LP and CD July 14th. Pre-order vinyl now here.
