‘Miami Vice’ by Parquet | New Album, ‘sparkles & mud’
‘Miami Vice’ is the latest single by French experimental band Parquet. It’s taken from the upcoming album, ‘sparkles & mud,’ out October 27th via Carton Records.
This Lyon-based band is releasing the fantastic single taken from a phenomenal full-length album to be released via Carton Records.
The music video was shot in two parts: the first section (inside the television), was shot with a small crew in several locations in the south of France while the second section was shot in Lyon’s Cinéfabrique. The slow tracking shot emphasises the presence of pointless, stubborn, powerful, and peaceful determination. As in “brute,” their most recent video released in June, they focus on length and repetition while ignoring aesthetics.
Parquet explores the concept of states, both physical and psychological. These are often reached at the end of an evolutionary and diffuse process. The band, which was founded in 2014 by drummer Sébastien Brun, totally embraces the fantasy of playing techno music with instruments. The ensemble, which is iconoclastic by nature, distinguishes itself via its mesmerising abilities.
