Exclusive video premiere of ‘The Kiss’ by Dreamweapon, taken from the upcoming album, ‘Ars Moriendi,’ out October 6th, 2023 via Little Cloud Records (USA), Up In Her Room Records (UK) and Infinite Spin Records (USA).

Hailing from Porto, Portugal, Dreamweapon is the brainchild of 10000 Russos former bass player André Couto. Their forthcoming album, ‘Ars Moriendi’ is the 9th Dreamweapon album. Regarded as the end of an anachronic circle, initiated in 2016 with ‘Rites of Lunacy,’ 2018 with ‘SOL’ and now concluded. Recorded between the end of the pandemic lockdown and the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion, ‘Ars Moriendi’ may be the darkest Dreamweapon production to date.

‘Ars Moriendi,’ as referred to in the late Middle Ages Latin texts, offers protocol and procedures to a good death. It is a messenger of hope, as you take control of the past, by acknowledging it and accepting it, you take control of the future.

Compromising of four long pieces delivered on the Dreamweapon method: minimalism, repetition, improvise; each one of them featuring a collaboration with the “dreamweapon aeternal khoros;” each one of them referring to a different stadium in preparation: innocence – suggestion; danse macabre – awareness; the kiss – acceptance; profundis – embodiment.

The hint is well present in the music, by combining the influences of the forefathers, who inspired their name (Angus Maclise, Tony Conrad, Spacemen 3), with the ones of the industrial masters such as Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and The Young Gods, Dreamweapon’s music is a minimalist, droney, head swirling psychedelia, with a dark, industrial scent.
