Experimental project by The Image Factory that transformed through an improv session of artists who never played together into: The Underground Orchestra.

“In the beginning of this year I had the idea to write a piece of music and invite several artists to record it live at Arkaoda, Berlin. The idea was to create a happening, to capture an experience rather than a “song” – to create an environment where everybody can contribute their identity. A piece written by The Image Factory, transformed through an improv session of artists who never played together into: The Underground Orchestra. Involved were seven musicians, a three people choir, two people on film camera, one photographer and a sound engineer – in total 14 people to make this happen.” – Stig (The Image Factory)

After appearing out of nothing and playing several shows last year in Berlin – The Image Factory is still a mystery. The only recording out there yet, is a ‘Live at Urban Spree’ cassette which only got sold at concerts. Coming out of the sphere of deconstruction, Stig founder of The Image Factory let the band disappear again to start recording the first Image Factory record in the beginning of 2023.
