‘River’ by Michele Ducci | New Album, ‘SIVE’

Italian artist Michele Ducci unveils ‘River,’ the inaugural single from his debut solo album titled ‘SIVE,’ slated for release on June 7 by London-based label Monotreme Records.

Michele Ducci, known as the “M” in the electro-pop duo M+A, released two albums under Monotreme Records. Their second album, ‘These Days,’ earned them recognition on The Guardian’s “best new bands of 2014” list and landed them live performances on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and at the Venice Biennale.

For his debut solo project, ‘SIVE,’ Michele adopts a more minimalist and intimate approach, centering on the piano and his emotive vocals. The lead single, ‘River,’ is a poignant ballad that reflects its title, beginning with delicate vocals and piano, depicting a moment when he contemplated leaving the music industry behind: “They call my name but I’m a river”.

About the song, Michele says: “I was in New York for musical reasons in a situation of psychic and metropolitan traffic, in which every mention of my name in relation to the artistic career and the pressures of that world had nothing to do with music, I was so saturated that I could feel myself only in the moving waves of the Hudson River. “You and I,” I said to myself, ” are from the same origin.”.
