Population II, hailing from Saint-Joseph-du-Lac in Quebec’s Lower Laurentians, revisits their roots while pushing forward with their latest EP, ‘Serpent Échelle,’ packed with symbolic depth and eccentric guitar riffs. Departing from their previous releases, ‘Serpent Échelle’ showcases a bolder, more adventurous sonic landscape and a denser atmosphere, exemplified in tracks like ‘Hélène,’ ‘R.B.,’ and ‘Comme tu le souhaites (Ding Dong)’. The trio continues to exhibit their mastery of musical composition and a renewed dedication to songwriting, blending improvisational elements seamlessly on the instrumental track ‘Le Serpent.’
