Our schedules, and then a pandemic, made it challenging to do so, but we always kept the conversation rolling. I’d been sending him demos of these tunes before we started recording the album. So when the idea of reworking some of the songs as instrumentals was fresh, I thought it would be rad to have him add some sounds. He was stoked to collab with some synth parts, and I was delighted with the results. Nau is one of my favorite contemporary songwriters, and his records mean a great deal to me.”
