For more than a decade, Kungens Män, hailing from Stockholm, has been disseminating their message of free rock, resonating across the cosmos with bursts of saxophone reminiscent of Ayler and the resonant, cutting tones of Fender guitars, all driven by the pulsating rhythms evocative of Saturn’s power. Their musical ethos is equally grounded in the organic essence of nature — trees, grass, and stones — as it is in an urban milieu fraught with the cacophony of subways, construction, and insatiable materialism. Through this synthesis, Kungens Män constructs a unique sonic universe, providing a sanctuary amidst the chaos, pulsating with its own rhythm.

This evolutionary journey culminates in the release of ‘För samtida djur 2’ on Majestic Mountain Records, the second part of a dual offering. While the first installment comprised shorter musical pieces, this latest release showcases four expansive compositions, each unfolding like cosmic nebulae within an ethereal landscape of the imagination.

The lead single and video, “Dåderman renoverar” (Dåderman Renovates), is an edited version of the first track on the album. Originally 15 minutes, the single has been cut to around 5 minutes. You need to go to the moon before you head for Venus. It is accompanied by a video by the same partner in genius who made the video for part one, Patrik Instedt, diving headfirst into the challenges of building things out of nothing, of using the wrong tools the right way.

Peter Erikson is the Synthesizer Sorcerer, Hans Hjelm wields the title of Guitar Guru, Gustav Nygren mesmerizes as the Saxophone Shaman, Mattias Indy Pettersson powers through as the Drum Dynamo, Mikael Tuominen reigns supreme as the Guitar Maestro, and Magnus Öhrn holds court as the Bass Wizard.

Together, they are Kungens Män, the heralds of a new sonic era, beckoning all who dare to listen to join them on their journey through the astral plains of sound.
