‘Dreamachine’ by Habibi
Fresh off the Brooklyn streets, Habibi unveils its latest masterpiece, ‘Dreamachine,’ out via Kill Rock Stars.
Formed amidst the vibrant pulse of Brooklyn in 2011 by Rahill Jamalifard and Lenny Lynch, both hailing from the heart of Detroit, Habibi’s journey takes a thrilling turn with ‘Dreamachine.’ Shedding their garage rock skin, the quintet embarks on a sonic odyssey, melding analog nostalgia with digital innovation in a quest for both earthly and ethereal heights.
Behind the boards, the dream team of Tyler Love and the seasoned Jay Heiselmann sculpt a landscape where genres blur and boundaries dissolve. With the added magic touch of MGMT’s James Richardson, ‘Dreamachine’ emerges as a kaleidoscope of influences: post-punk pulses, experimental pop hues, and a hint of vintage disco groove. Think Tom Verlaine meets Diana Ross with a dash of Kate Bush and Kim Deal, all steeped in the mystique of Middle Eastern psych sounds that pulse through the band’s collective veins.
