‘Lahar’ by Sons of Viljems | New Album, ‘Lithospheric Melodies’

Exclusive premiere of the music video for ‘Lahar’ by Sons of Viljems, from their latest album, ‘Lithospheric Melodies’.

Sons of Viljems’ debut album, Lithospheric Melodies, is a moody journey through experimental soundscapes. This London-based duo, featuring Andrea Giommi (guitar, vocals) and Nejc Haberman (bass, synth), spent five years carefully crafting these 42 minutes of music. The result is a mesmerizing blend of dub bass lines, jazz undertones, and haunting melodies.

The album is a collaborative effort with contributions from several musicians, including jazz drummer Tim Doyle (Chiminyo), synth specialist Filip Sijanec, and vocalists Laura Loriga and Elisa Ridolfi. Their input adds layers of depth and texture, creating an atmospheric vibe that is both eerie and evocative.

‘Lahar,’ the opening track, sets the tone with its double bass drone and gradually builds into a crescendo of saturated distortion. The music video, created by FRESERØK, is a black-and-white visual spectacle that captures the album’s industrial and haunting aesthetic.

Released by DisastersByChoice Records, ‘Lithospheric Melodies’ is an impressive debut that draws on diverse influences like Goat, Khruangbin, and Ennio Morricone. If you’re looking for music that is adventurous and evocative, this album is worth exploring. Catch Sons of Viljems live at their upcoming gigs in the UK and Europe for a truly immersive experience.
