‘Spotlight City’ by Dan Rincon | Album Premiere
Exclusive album premiere of ‘Spotlight City’ by Dan Rincon, out on May 3, 2024, via Castle Face Records.
Dan Rincon, the longtime drummer of the legendary psych-rock band OSEES, is set to release his debut solo LP, ‘Spotlight City,’ on Castle Face Records. In this new record, Rincon constructs electronic soundscapes for the imaginary ‘Spotlight City’ with a diverse array of synthesizers. The album is a laboratory of musical experimentation and ambient expansion, inviting listeners into a sonic journey through intricate landscapes and ethereal tones.
“Artificial landscapes and melodies comprised of Moog Grandmother, Mellotron, and a kinky modular system span from beautiful and lilting to haunting and ethereal,” Rincon says of the album’s unique sound. “The album was a years-long learning experience of getting all components and ingredients to link arms and blend comfortably. Wrangling was part of the process. Strings soaring and sines weaving.”
Fans of Castle Face Records, OSEES, Popol Vuh soundtracks, 8-bit video game accompaniment, and 80s Tangerine Dream will find much to appreciate in this new offering. The album effortlessly merges experimental electronic elements with a sense of nostalgia, creating a captivating and immersive experience.
Make sure to check out ‘Spotlight City,’ available from May 3, 2024, via Castle Face Records. It’s an album you don’t want to miss if you’re into groundbreaking electronic music and ambient soundscapes.
