Renowned for his groundbreaking work with Parliament-Funkadelic, Worrell’s influence spans decades and genres, with collaborations that include luminaries such as Talking Heads, Les Claypool, Gov’t Mule, and Mos Def.

This ambitious collection was brought to life by an impressive roster of musicians across fourteen different cities, each contributing to Worrell’s unparalleled vision. The album features an eclectic array of artists, including Bootsy Collins, Jerry Harrison, Leo Nocentelli, Sean Ono Lennon, and Fred Schneider, along with a rare, previously unreleased Funkadelic track.

Originally a vinyl exclusive for Record Store Day 2024 from Org Music, ‘Wave From the WOOniverse’ is now set to enchant CD listeners on August 16th, 2024, thanks to a co-release by Loantaka Records and Org Music. The digital release is available even earlier, dropping on June 28th, 2024.

The music video for the title track, ‘Wave From the WOOniverse,’ directed by Madaline Riley, captures the essence of New York’s underground dance scene. Riley describes it as “the blast to the past summer day everyone dreams of,” showcasing the city’s most unique and otherworldly dancers in a celebration of individuality and the unapologetic self.

Producer Evan Taylor praises Riley’s direction, saying, “Madaline knocked it out of the park with this one. The diverse styles, colors, and flavors were the perfect match for Sarah La Puerta’s wispy vocals, Miho Hatori’s tumbling rap, and Jared Samuel’s WOO-infused co-production.”
