‘American Holidays’ by Kaycie Satterfield | New Album, ‘Rosie’

Exclusive track premiere of ‘American Holidays’ by dreampop artist Kaycie Satterfield, taken from the upcoming album ‘Rosie,’ out July 12, 2024, via Earth Libraries.

‘American Holidays’ is offering a tantalizing final taste of her forthcoming debut LP, ‘Rosie.’ The album promises to be a mesmerizing journey through themes of self-discovery, identity, and relationships, particularly from the perspective of a queer individual navigating the complexities of life.

The single ‘American Holidays’ stands out as a poignant reflection on the disillusionment and lies embedded within the American narrative, cleverly paralleled with the turmoil of a failing relationship. Satterfield’s introspective lyricism delves deep into the realization that the stories we’ve been told about America mirror the falsehoods and betrayals experienced in personal connections.

Speaking about the single, Satterfield shares, “Another major influence on the sound of this album was ‘Strange Mercy’ by St. Vincent. I drew a lot of inspiration from the sounds on that album for this song. I wanted to write a song that paralleled the disillusionment and scandal of a relationship ending with the realization that the story we’re told about America is a lie.”
