Exclusive track premiere of ‘Everything’ by Nick Kizirnis, taken from his latest album, ‘Every Moment,’ out now via ATOM Records.

In his latest track, ‘Everything,’ Dayton, Ohio’s Nick Kizirnis explores themes of betrayal and the struggle of persevering when hope is gone. The song features Tobin Sprout (Guided by Voices) on keyboards and boasts an energetic rhythm section with Jim Macpherson (The Breeders, Guided by Voices) and Daisy Caplan (Foxy Shazam, Lung). Guitarist Tod Weidner and singer/cellist Kate Wakefield (Lung) contribute slide guitars and rich choral backing vocals, creating a distinctive mix of Indie Rock, Americana, and a touch of Chamber Pop.

Kizirnis reflects, “The song was originally a low-key acoustic song about a bitter break-up, but once Daisy (Caplan) and Jim (Macpherson) began playing it started rocking. Then Tobin (Sprout) added an entirely new element to the choruses and outro that opened the door for both these lush backing vocals from Kate (Wakefield) and layers of guitar from Tod (Weidner). I was surprised that the song traveled that far, especially as we were all communicating via email and text during that time, just sending tracks back and forth with little discussion. It really was “here’s my song, what do you think should happen”. It was a really exciting experience during a difficult time.” says Kizirnis

Kizirnis’ latest solo album, ‘Every Moment,’ was released in May and was recorded remotely during the lockdown with contributions from friends across the country. The album features Paul Livingston (Trash Can Sinatras), Tobin Sprout (Guided by Voices), Kyleen Downes, Daisy Caplan, Jim Macpherson, Kate Wakefield, and Tod Weidner.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Link Wray, The National, Guided By Voices, and Neko Case, Kizirnis has developed a moody, textured Indie Rock/Americana style over decades of solo and collaborative work. He has recorded with The Breeders, Tobin Sprout, and had his music featured on reality TV shows such as LA Tattoo, Road Rules, and The Real World.
