Searows is back with his latest single, ‘martingale,’ released through Last Recordings On Earth. This release precedes an extensive UK and European headline tour, which kicks off in late August.

Searows, the project of Alec Duckart, initially garnered attention by sharing poignant snippets of his songwriting on TikTok. These brief, yet captivating showcases captured the hearts of many but never evolved into full tracks—until now. Duckart recently hit the studio with the goal of fully realizing some of these fan-favorite ideas. The result is ‘martingale,’ a track that expands upon the original demo, blending lush, spacious instrumentation with the raw intimacy of Duckart’s original bedroom recordings. Collaborating with producer Jonathan Pearce (The Beths), Duckart brought the song to life over the summer.

Reflecting on the track, Duckart shares, “I began writing ‘martingale’ in 2022, exploring the traits and influences we inherit from our families and close ones. Initially, it was two separate, unfinished pieces I had shared on TikTok at different times. It wasn’t until recently that I realized they were meant to be one cohesive song. I decided to complete it, record it in a studio, and include it in my upcoming project.”

Alec Duckart, known professionally as Searows, is a Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter and guitarist. His debut album, Guard Dog, was released independently and quickly found a fan base, thanks in part to enthusiastic TikTok communities. The album earned praise from notable indie artists like Ethel Cain and Gracie Abrams, both of whom Duckart has supported on tour.

Searows’ music often feels deeply personal, resonating with listeners in a way reminiscent of Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver. Duckart has written and produced all his music to date.

‘martingale’ is the latest offering from Last Recordings On Earth, a label founded by Matt Maltese in partnership with Communion Records. This single follows his critically acclaimed 2023 EP, ‘End Of The World,’ and the fan-favorite track ‘House Song.’

This August, Searows will embark on his first major headline tour across the UK and Europe, with the first of two nights at London’s Village Underground already sold out. Due to high demand, additional dates in Dublin and Glasgow have been added. Check out the full tour schedule below.
