‘Cinematic Insight’ by Alex Henry Foster | New Album, ‘A Measure Of Shape And Sounds’

Exclusive track premiere of ‘Cinematic Insight’ by Alex Henry Foster, from the upcoming album ‘A Measure Of Shape And Sounds,’ out now via Hopeful Tragedy Records.

Today, Alex Henry Foster releases his second album of the year, ‘A Measure Of Shape And Sounds.’ The album is an intimate journey of its own, representing a profound personal breathe-in made of several layers of guitar loops, reverberations, resonances, and oscillations juxtaposed together to create a sonic multi-directional contemplative maelstrom.

“It felt like the representation of an organic movement that could ultimately break us free from the echo chamber we might have been trapped in and therefore end the emotional twirl and affective cycle of redundancy that too often comes with the vivid sensation of emptiness and desperation,” Foster remarks.

When asked, “How did you channel your own personal experiences of longing for freedom and emotional release into the album?” the response was, “It was the first time I felt as personally exposed while being part of something defined by a collage of multiple surrounding senses and vibrations. Inner freedom can sometimes be a distant construct of the mind, much like the notion of self-enfranchisement can be an alienated form of projection. It’s when you are deprived of everything you thought defined you that you begin to realize what you thought was missing in your life was actually there all along. Meanwhile, you crave more layers of denial to assemble a form of happiness that, deep down, you know never truly was and never will be. Honesty is a frightening perspective that, once acknowledged, becomes the most precious and empowering ally in your evolving growth. That’s what I have discovered through this whole process so far.”

The album provides an ongoing soundtrack to that internal self-searching reflection, inviting us to lift ourselves forward, to tame the other bonding voices to which we usually surrender our longing desires for freedom.

‘A Measure Of Shape And Sounds’ is part of an extensive body of work in which the recently-released album Kimiyo is a center component, along with the upcoming movie Voyage à la Mer, set to be released in 2025.
