Creve Coeur Releases ‘Vertige Noir’ | New Album, ‘Catastrophes’

Paris-based Creve Coeur is set to unveil their debut album ‘Catastrophes’ on November 8, 2024, via Atypeek Music, and the first taste of it comes with their explosive single ‘Vertige Noir.’

The track plunges into the dark intersection of Chicago noise rock and 90’s post-hardcore, with jagged dissonances and unnerving vocals from frontman Corentin Sarkadi. His half-detached, half-menacing delivery, combined with the band’s unpredictable soundscapes, makes this an intense listening experience. Fans of bands like METZ, Sonic Youth, and Gilla Band will find the 5-minute sonic whirlwind both unsettling and captivating, oscillating between chaos and eerie calm.

‘Vertige Noir’ was recorded live, a testament to the band’s chemistry, captured by sound engineer Youri Benaïs. To further highlight their raw energy, the accompanying video—filmed in May 2024—showcases the band in a stripped-down live session, directed by Guillaume Quincy, echoing the vibes of iconic performances like KEXP or Live From The Basement. This release sets the stage for Creve Coeur to make a fierce mark on the noise rock scene.
