Exclusive video premiere of ‘Going Down’ by Rome’s electro-psych band Big Mountain County, taken from the upcoming album ‘Deep Drives,’ slated for release on November 29th, 2024 via Sister 9 Recordings.

In a burst of creativity, Big Mountain County crafted ‘Going Down’ in a single, unrelenting session, capturing that rare flow where ideas spill out with raw authenticity. The track promises to plunge listeners into a chaotic, neon-drenched urban nightscape, where the pulsating rhythm drives an immersive, synthetic atmosphere. According to the band, ‘Going Down’ transforms the night into a feverish protagonist, depicting a world of shattered hopes, empty pockets, and the thrill of howling into the abyss of a high-octane blur.

After showcasing their latest EP, ‘Klaus,’ at prestigious events like the New Colossus Festival in New York and SXSW in Austin, Big Mountain County took a year-long studio hiatus to refine their sound. Their journey has led them to blend primitive garage rock with neo-psychedelia, and Disco—a unique fusion that will be fully realized in ‘Deep Drives.’

Formed in Rome in 2013, the band, comprising four southern Italians with a shared love for The Stooges, MC5, and The Velvet Underground, first gained recognition with a raw garage rock debut. They quickly expanded their reach, touring Eastern Europe and immersing themselves in the European scene. Their prior albums, ‘Breaking Sound’ and ‘Somewhere Else,’ along with their dynamic live performances, including appearances at Sziget Festival and supporting Cloud Nothings, have cemented their reputation.

The release of ‘Klaus’ marked a significant shift towards a dance-driven electronic sound, featuring collaborations with electronic psych producer Al Lover and Roman producer Hugo Sanchez. This new direction has energized the band, setting the stage for their eagerly awaited LP, ‘Deep Drives.’
