‘Like a Dream’ by Burr Oak | New EP, ‘Annabelle’
Exclusive track premiere of ‘Like a Dream’ by the Chicago-based four-piece Burr Oak, taken from their upcoming EP ‘Annabelle,’ due September 20, 2024.
Today, Chicago based 4-piece, Burr Oak shares a new single ‘Like a Dream’ along with their highly anticipated album ‘Annabelle.’
Burr Oak on the track, “The moment when she knew, everything was going to be okay. Annabelle attends a group therapy session for single moms. There she meets someone who she immediately has a connection with. They hit it off, become fast friends and then eventually after a year of spending time together, fall in love. Annabelle sees the light at the end of a long and winding tunnel. She made it out alive and is cheerful about life with her beautiful baby and new partner.”
“”Like a Dream,” the final track off our EP ‘Annabelle’, serves as a profound moment of resolution and renewal. After enduring emotional abuse, single motherhood, and post-partum depression, Annabelle’s journey culminates in the discovery of love and companionship. The song represents a shift from darkness to light, where Annabelle’s new relationship brings a sense of peace and belonging. “
Burr Oak, led by Chicago-based singer/songwriter Savanna Dickhut, has evolved from a deeply personal project into a four-piece band with a dynamic sound. Their latest EP, ‘Annabelle,’ released via Easy Does It Records, tells a poignant fictional story inspired by the aftermath of Roe v. Wade’s overturning. The five-track release follows the character Annabelle through emotional abuse, single motherhood, and post-partum depression, while ultimately offering hope through resilience and self-discovery. With hauntingly emotive melodies and rich storytelling, Burr Oak delivers a powerful reflection on love, loss, and human connection.
