‘Patron’ by Hunger Anthem | New Album, ‘Lift’

Hunger Anthem releases ‘Patron,’ a new track from their upcoming album, ‘Lift,’ slated for release on December 6th via Cornelius Chapel Records.

Hunger Anthem, an indie-rock band from Athens, Georgia, fuses gritty distortion with melodic power-pop and a strong DIY ethos. What began as Brendan Vaganek’s solo project in Buffalo, NY, quickly evolved into a full band, known for their raw, lo-fi sound and high-energy performances. Their upcoming album Lift takes their sound to new heights, recorded with Mike Albanese at Espresso Machine and mastered by Joel Hatstat.

Reflecting on the song ‘Patron,’ Vaganek says:

“‘Patron’ came about during a period of isolation and some tougher life transitions. It started quite simply on an acoustic guitar, then morphed into the full band version that it became. The lyrics are surely more personal, and lean toward a darker aspect. But sometimes putting an idea of that nature to an upbeat tempo together with some pop sensibility can open things up a little, and hopefully make what was once a struggle a bit more catchy.”

With a history of relentless touring and strong friendships formed along the way, Hunger Anthem continues to move forward, embracing both their past and the future.
