The Acid Acid Asimov Split 10” Emerges from the Cosmic Ether
Straight from the cosmic void, the Acid Acid Asimov split 10” lands like a transmission from the outer reaches of sound.
This lathe-cut beauty, limited to just thirty copies, feels less like a record and more like a portal to deep space—right here, deep in Portugal’s sonic underground.
On one side, you’ve got Acid Acid, the one-man kosmische trip helmed by radio renegade Tiago Castro. If you’ve ever tuned in to his show A Floresta Encantada, you already know Castro is a master of guiding listeners through krautrock, prog, and psych-scapes with the precision of a sonic astronaut. Since 2016, Acid Acid has been melting minds with releases like the self-titled debut and the 2020 trip ‘Jodorowsky.’ Now, he’s joined forces with Asimov’s Carlos Ferreira and João Arsénio on guitar and drums, creating a gravity-defying sound that stretches Acid Acid’s celestial vibe even further into the void.

And then there’s Asimov, the local underground legends themselves. This split captures one of their last-ever studio sessions, and it’s an absolute relic of their heavy psych apocalypse. On ‘Aerogramas – E O Futuro Chegou,’ Asimov channels their signature sonic chaos—feedback-soaked guitars, pounding rhythms, and vocals that tear through the air like a scream in the dark. If you’ve spun their ‘Dialects + Stenar Musik’ double CD, you might recognize ‘Aerogramas,’ but the real prize here is ‘E O Futuro Chegou.’ A one-take, improvised explosion of sound that pushes their doom-laden psych straight to the edge, this track is the final document of Asimov’s firestorm brilliance before they disappear into the abyss.

This split is set to drop on October 3rd at Casa do Comum in Lisbon, during a night of counterculture communion known as Uma Mostra Em Contracultura (A Show In Counterculture). Acid Acid will deliver a live set backed by hallucinogenic visuals from Lena Huracán, followed by a DJ set from cultural agitator Marta San. The night kicks off with a rare screening of Asimov’s short film collection, Asimov, Flowers – O Filme, a kaleidoscopic visual trip created to accompany their 2020 album with The Hidden Circus – ‘Flowers,’ born out of the isolation of pandemic times.

With just thirty copies, this release is destined to become a myth. Don’t sleep on it, or it’ll be lost to the ether.
