‘F***you:you’ by GINA ÉTÉ | New Album, ‘Prosopagnosia’

Swiss artist GINA ÉTÉ unveils ‘F**you*,’ the bold first single from her forthcoming album ‘Prosopagnosia,’ set for release in February 7, 2025.

This track is more than just a song; it’s a defiant statement, voiced from the perspective of a body assigned female at birth, challenging the constraints imposed upon it.

GINA ÉTÉ has consistently woven politics and social commentary into her work, as shown in her 2021 debut album ‘Erased By Thought.’ Tracks like ‘All Or Nothing’ confront the climate crisis, ‘Trauma’ delves into the psychological toll of seeking refuge in Europe, while ‘Mauern’ from her debut EP ‘Oak Tree’ offered a parting message to Donald Trump and other authoritarian figures.

Now, ‘F**you*’ sets the stage for her next chapter, leading up to ‘Prosopagnosia.’ This single takes on new dimensions with contributions from seven European musicians, who have crafted six reinterpretations of the track, exploring themes of bodies, borders, gender, and discrimination across languages—English, German, Russian, Dutch, French, and Italian.

“In each language, the topics of gender, gender rules and breaking free of them comes in different shades – so I thought it would be amazing, hearing it sung about in different languages” – says the Zurich-born artist. “I am so glad, those amazing musicians were willing to take part in the adventure!”

Morphing through genres as much as the gender spectrum is diverse, the six tracks are being released starting on October 11 and will be compiled as an EP on December 4.
