‘Racehorse Deathwatch’ by Fruit

Exclusive track premiere of ‘Racehorse Deathwatch’ by Manchester/Liverpool’s own Fruit.

Their latest single is dropping on November 1st. This post-rock six-piece has built a reputation for bending the rules of sound, creating a unique blend of dissonance, noise, and sharp-witted lyricism. Think “a morose and angry John Cooper Clarke fronting Mogwai” and you’re halfway there.

Recorded in a single day at Hackney Road Studios with two-time Mercury nominee Shuta Shinoda (Spiritualized, Hot Chip), ‘Racehorse Deathwatch’ features angular guitars, off-kilter time signatures, and haunting spoken word vocals. Lead singer Josh describes it as thematically focused on punishment and retribution, drawing inspiration from Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Mikhail Bulgakov, all while echoing the sounds of bands like 37500 Yens and Slint.

Catch them live at these upcoming shows:
October 31st – Band on the Wall, Manchester (Headline, with Westside Cowboy)
November 8th – Off The Square, Manchester (Supporting Norisette)
November 14th – The Washington, Sheffield (Supporting Meltheads)
November 23rd – Castle Hotel, Manchester (Supporting Tramhaus)
December 7th – Supersonic, Paris (‘They’re Gonna Be Big’ Showcase)
