Daydream Three: Live, Loud, and Unfiltered with ‘Stop Making Noise’

Daydream Three’s new album, ‘Stop Making Noise,’ is the latest project from Sicilian guitarist Enzo Pepi. Released today, November 8, 2024, this resonant piece is anything but polished studio fare.

Recorded live over two scorching summer days at Arsonica in Syracuse, the album brings together Enzo’s singular guitar with the seasoned rhythm section of Vincenzo Arisco on drums and Alessandro Formica on bass. These two have been Pepi’s right-hand men since the beginning, and their chemistry shows—it’s as if the three share one pulse.

Sound engineer Carlo Barbagallo took a hands-off approach, deliberately stepping back to let the sound breathe and resonate within the Arsonica concert hall. His approach was to capture the magic of a live set, a stripped-back honesty that lets every note, every beat hang in the air just like it would in front of a crowd. This isn’t an album that hides behind layers or effects; instead, it celebrates the raw edge of live music.

“Stop making noise!” For Enzo Pepi and his band, that rebellious energy hasn’t faded with age. They play with the same raw spirit they had as teens, a vibe that’s all over Stop Making Noise. The only rule for listening to this record? Crank it up.
