‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ by Three Years Younger | New EP, ‘Pretty For Now’
Exclusive track premiere of ‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ by Suffolk-based alt-pop duo Three Years Younger.
The track is a snapshot of the duo’s journey, blending blistering rock guitar tones with sweeping, celestial harmonies and a catchy, unforgettable chorus. It’s a song that makes a statement—equal parts electrifying and haunting, yet as approachable as it is ambitious. Co-written and produced by sisters Charlie and Megan Simpson, ‘Pretty’ was mixed by Max Jerry, known for his work with Netflix, BBC, and the Olympics, and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Lana Del Rey, The Rolling Stones).
‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ captures the spirit of frustration and resilience that has defined the duo’s musical growth. Describing the track, the sisters share: “After a few years of a creative trickle, we had to face the music; there was a lot of work to do to get us back on track. Faced with a feeling of being ‘below the glass ceiling’ compared to many young boy bands rising insanely fast, and reminiscing on the various forms of misogyny we had faced from past live gig experiences, ‘Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here)’ was born.”
The forthcoming ‘Pretty For Now’ EP delves deeper into the duo’s most turbulent and transformative experiences as sisters and artists. “The EP paints a chronological journey of the most gruelling and turbulent times we have faced as sisters in Three Years Younger.”
