‘Row’ by David Steinhart | New Album, ‘Released’
In his latest single, ‘Row,’ Los Angeles songwriter David Steinhart crafts a haunting blend of rhythm and harmony that makes you want to move while pondering deeper themes of loss and resilience.
Inspired by a powerful scene in Midnight Mass, Steinhart explains, “In the series, a man proves he’s been bitten by a vampire by rowing his partner onto a lake at dawn. When he bursts into flames, she takes a moment before she starts to row back to shore.” He adds, “It struck me as a great illustration of how we deal with terror and loss. We take a minute to grieve, and then we move on.”
‘Row’ is part of Steinhart’s upcoming album, ‘Released,’ which marks his return to solo work after years with folk trio The Furious Seasons. Featuring ten new tracks, ‘Released’ dives into folk-tinged pop with lush, full-band arrangements and Steinhart’s signature lyrical depth. With nearly 30 albums under his belt, ‘Released’ showcases the evocative melodies and storytelling that define Steinhart’s career.
