Dreamwave’s New Single: A New Wave of Weirdness
Bristol’s Dreamwave made an immediate impact with their debut EP, ‘Dreamwave and the Mindcave,’ quickly earning critical praise.
Their neon energy and boundary-pushing sound swiftly made them a fixture in both local and international circles. But Dreamwave’s not one to sit back—they’ve always got one foot in the unknown.

Enter ‘Wideshooter,’ a track that cranks up the weird factor to eleven. Born out of a late-night lyricless demo, hastily thrown together just hours before a studio session with Dom Bailey-Clay at Nine Volt Leap, the song morphed into something unexpected. In just 3 minutes and 3 seconds, ‘Wideshooter’ unleashes a collision of punk, new wave, and Dreamwave’s signature psych flavor—a snapshot of the band’s evolution, full of twists and turns.

Drawing influence from the likes of The B-52’s and Devo, Wideshooter pulses with an infectious new wave rhythm and a cheeky sense of humor. And as if that wasn’t enough, the lyrics offer a playful wink to Sunday league football, while the band’s DIY ethos shines through with a homemade, spoof-style music video they produced, filmed, and edited themselves.
With ‘Wideshooter,’ Dreamwave have truly rewritten the rulebook, …
