Exclusive video premiere of ‘I Need You More Somehow’ by Heaven, taken from their upcoming album ‘Dream Aloud,’ slated for release on April 4, 2025 via Little Cloud Records.

The second single from their upcoming record, ‘I Need You More Somehow,’ blends the lushness of the Beach Boys with the energy of Jesus and Mary Chain, crafting a track that thrives on simplicity and melody. It’s a song of unrequited love, where yearning and contentment coexist in a delicate, blissful tug-of-war. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on a California beach or losing yourself in the gritty pulse of a Glasgow or Berlin nightclub, this track effortlessly bridges two worlds. The lyrics are intentionally vague, hinting at a deep longing for connection while also capturing a peaceful acceptance of the present moment.

The accompanying video evokes the DIY charm of 80s/90s VHS footage, inspired by the gritty aesthetic of CCTV and straight-to-video culture. Filmed at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, the video wraps itself in a haze of blue and pink stage lights, perfectly mirroring the vibe of the song—an atmosphere of both nostalgia and intimacy.

Heaven rides a wave of expansive, dreamlike soundscapes, weaving their ethereal tracks with a sense of longing and wonder. Formed by Matt Sumrow and Mikey Jones after years of touring and recording with artists like Dean and Britta, Swervedriver, Ambulance Ltd, Caveman, the Comas, and the Lemonheads, the band now adds bassist Sonia Manalili to their lineup. After a reflective period during the pandemic, this NYC-based trio is preparing to release their most hypnotic work yet. Their third full-length album, ‘Dream Aloud’ was mixed by Jonathan Krienik (the Rapture, Gang Gang Dance) and mastered by Christopher Colbert (Walkmen, Pedro the Lion).
