Asimov Folkways’ Handcrafted Manifesto ‘Ayeres en Ayers (Uluru Blues)’ / ‘Fahey’s Dog’
Carlos Ferreira, the mind behind Asimov Folkways, hits us with a record as spontaneous as it is deftly crafted.
After a prolonged silence, his acoustic project—a side venture from the heavier psych roots of Asimov—steps back into the light with the double A-side single ‘Ayeres en Ayers (Uluru Blues)’ / ‘Fahey’s Dog.’ Limited to just 35 hand-numbered copies, each with a collage cover painstakingly assembled by Ferreira himself, this release is a love letter to private press era when records weren’t churned out like factory products.
Originally crafted in 2011, Asimov Folkways had its delicate moments wind their way through tracks like ‘The Second Floor’ and ‘Gaivota’ before retreating into the quieter corners of Ferreira’s mind. But now, re-emerging in 2025 as part of an ongoing series of 7″ singles to be released throughout the year, it brings us an offering brimmed with intent and vision. This is an intimate manifesto to the guitar stylings of John Fahey, the loose wanderings of Michael Chapman, and the soul of ‘Led Zeppelin III’.

Set for its premiere at Feira Fulminante on February 22nd, ‘Ayeres en Ayers (Uluru Blues)’ / ‘Fahey’s Dog’ unveils a fresh dimension of the creative mind behind Asimov, a musician typically more known for his expansive, jam-driven explorations. This release offers an intimate glimpse into a more delicate and artful facet of his vision.
