‘Ocean Ocean’ by A.M. Boys | New Album, ‘Present Phase’
NYC’s A.M. Boys are back with their new single ‘Ocean Ocean’ ahead of their upcoming album ‘Present Phase,’ dropping May 16th. The duo—Chris Moore (Light Vortex/While) and John Blonde (House of Blondes)—mix minimal post-punk vibes with fresh electronic rhythms.
After their 2022 debut ‘Distance Decay,’ ‘Present Phase’ explores the push and pull between their catchy pop side and more experimental tendencies. ‘Ocean Ocean’ is the perfect intro—melodic, dreamy, and full of beachy nostalgia. Blonde shares that the song was inspired by a solo trip to Malibu: “I was watching surfers at Surfrider Beach and was so captivated by the waves and freedom of it all. Later, I wrote the lyrics back in my room.”
The track was recorded in their Glowmatic Sound studio in New York, where Blonde worked to capture that laid-back, wave-like vibe. “It only took a few hours to put the demo together once I was back,” he says. “It felt like being right back on the beach.”

‘Ocean Ocean’ is out now, and Present Phase lands on May 16th.
