THE SOUND OF MONEY Unveils ‘Dr Dr Themefart’ and Announces New Album ‘TWO: RHYME ON’
Munich’s The Sound of Money is gearing up for the release of their new LP ‘TWO: RHYME ON’ on May 23, 2025, via BB*Island.
A follow-up to their 2018 album ‘MORE? WHY NOT!’, this new record is another anagrammatic exorcism, this time diving headfirst into their favorite 70s albums. To mark the announcement, the band has dropped their first single, ‘Dr Dr Themefart,’ accompanied by a music video directed by Andreas Hykade.
In 2017, the band took 12 of their favorite 60s albums, shook up the titles into anagrams, and came up with a collection of songs that captured the essence of those iconic records. Their upcoming LP does the same thing—this time with 70s classics like David Bowie, Nico, Kraftwerk, and Chic serving as the inspiration. The result? A wild ride through a kaleidoscopic pop landscape that celebrates both the format of the album and the free-spirited exchange of musical influences.
As for ‘Dr Dr Themefart,’ the track’s title is a playful reworking of ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ — transformed into ‘Dr. Dr. Themefart, Frustrating Himself, Posed as Gay Old Nazi SS.’ The band’s music mirrors this sonic chaos, blending genres like Agricultural P-Funk, Casino Gospel Disco, Anti-Pogo Postpunk, and Home Computer Dub Jazz—just to name a few.

‘TWO: RHYME ON’ is set to continue The Sound of Money’s anagrammatic adventures into dazzling new territories.
