Miriam Summons a Surreal Parade on Debut Single ‘Arrivano le Giraffe’
‘Arrivano le Giraffe’ is the first taste of ‘Sing-A-Beast,’ the debut solo album from Miriam—aka Mariella Modonese—and it sets the tone in the best way possible.
It’s the album’s opening track and the most collaborative one too, featuring everyone who helped bring the record to life. Alongside Miriam, you’ll hear Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo and Paul Beauchamp (who also recorded and mixed the whole thing at O.F.F. Studio in Turin), plus Il Bue adding subtle shimmer on cymbals and Francesca Sebastian Puopolo on flute, weaving through the mix like a secret melody.

The track comes with a video directed by Omar Bovenzi, using Miriam’s own illustrations to build this weird, beautiful visual world—it feels like flipping through pages of a storybook that’s been left out in the rain, then dried in the sun.
The album drops May 9 on Italian experimental label Dissipatio and is already up for pre-order over at Bandcamp.

It’s dreamy, slightly haunted, and full of curious little creatures hiding in the corners. Dive in.
